How to Add a Custom Indicator in MT5 on PC

Step 1: Download the Indicator

Step 2: Open the MT5 Data Folder

1. Launch the MT5 platform.
2. Click on File in the top-left menu.
3. Select Open Data Folder from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Navigate to the Indicators Folder

1. In the opened data folder, go to:
   MQL5 > Indicators.
2. This is where you’ll place the custom indicator file.

Step 4: Add the Indicator

1. Copy the downloaded .ex5 or .mq5 indicator file.
2. Paste the file into the Indicators folder.

Step 5: Refresh or Restart MT5

1. Close the data folder.
2. In MT5, go to the Navigator panel (on the left side of the screen).
3. Right-click on Indicators under the Navigator and select Refresh.
4. Alternatively, restart the MT5 platform to load the new indicator.

Step 6: Apply the Indicator to a Chart

1. Open the chart of the asset you want to analyze.
2. In the Navigator, expand the Indicators section.
3. Locate your custom indicator in the list.
4. Drag and drop the indicator onto the chart.

Step 7: Configure the Settings

1. A settings window will appear.
2. Adjust the parameters as needed, and click OK to apply.
